Driver Killed In Car Crash

A Metro East auto accident has resulted in the death of one individual. The accident occurred on Wednesday afternoon in Glen Carbon, Illinois. According to the Illinois State police, a male was operating his vehicle along Interstate 270 when he attempted to exit onto Route 157. He lost control of the vehicle, veered off the roadway and collided with a tree at approximately 4:41 p.m. Witnesses state the driver had been passing vehicles on the shoulder of the roadway and was driving erratically. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

Auto accidents occur in many forms including truck accidents, ATV accidents, motorcycle accidents, rear-end collisions, and single-vehicle accidents. Often individuals injured in single-vehicle accidents assume that they do not have grounds for a car accident case. While negligent driving is often to blame for auto accidents, there are other factors that contribute to a crash such as dangerous roadways, vehicle design flaws, and mechanical defects. Also, if an individual was injured as a passenger in a single-vehicle crash where the driver was at fault, they could have grounds to file a case. No assumptions should ever be made after sustaining injury or death in an auto accident.
